I like to walk at a local chain of three reservoir ponds which is a magnetic place for waterfowl and a variety of other birds.  I noticed one area along the trail where California Quail call beneath the stands of weeds.... it's not often i see them scurrying in plain sight.  

As I walked through the quail stomping grounds last week, i was hoping to see one or two.  I looked to a sign at the edge of the trail and there sat a lovely bonded pair of quail who allowed me several minutes to take pictures.  I was thrilled!
